My favorite project to create was the monster because it was one of the only projects that we had a ton of freedom with when creating it. A time I found something difficult was when my large smoothed coil pot was uneven at the top near the opening hole. I overcame this struggle by asking Ms. August what the best way was to fix it, and after she told me how to, I performed some "Surgery" on my pot. This was not the easiest process but I knew that in the end I would want the best looking and most even pot I could get. Coming into ceramics I was very confused and I thought that since I wasn't a good artist that I would not be able to make anything good in this class. I got over those thoughts quickly and began to gain confidence after I made my first couple projects and also after Ms. August explained that effort would be a major key to this class. I knew that if I tried by best and put my mind to something I would be able to accomplish it easier. Some different techniques I learned are scratch and attach, molding, making incisions, wheel throwing, flattening clay with the machines, etc. My overall experience was great and I'm so happy that I got to take this class and learn so much about myself and about ceramics in general.
